Puppy Training & Socialisation Classes

Firstly Congratultions on getting your new family member.

I teach practical puppy training instead of strict obedience ensuring you have a happy pup who is well behaved on walks.

All puppy training classes take place  in Callendar park, Falkirk on Sundays throughout the year.  I choose to hold the classes outdoor instead of inside as many pups are fantastic in a hall with no distractions, but as soon as they are outside enjoying the smells and sounds they soon forget their training and commands.

In Callendar park your dog will learn to follow commands amid real life distractions.

Your pups are encouraged to play and socialise with each other building their confidence around other pups and people.  We also discuss the laws relating to dogs and how your pup will develop and do things like dig, have a mad half hour, play bite or jump on visitors.

The aim of these dog and puppy training classes are to teach your dog to follow simple commands using both verbal and hand signals.  Whilst I do not teach strict obedience dog training, I will teach you and your dog the practical skills and commands to have a well trained dog.

What Will Your Puppy Learn at the Training Classes?

The main commands I will teach at the puppy training classes are:

  • Recall
  • Walking on Lead
  • Leave
  • Sit and Stay
  • Not Jumping Up
  • How to Stop Play Biting

These commands cover the majority of practical uses of dog training; for example, you can use a sit and stay command if your dog jumps up on people, or a leave command if your dog steals food.

Small Class Sizes - Maximum 6 Puppies

To ensure every puppy gets the attention they deserve, the puppy training classes have a maximum of six pups per class.

As always, the puppy training classes only use positive dog training methods.  This is usually treats or clicker dog training.

The puppy classes take place on Sunday mornings.

The classes are a four week course, with each course starting on the first Sunday of every month.  The  classes run in Callendar Park throughout the year.  Classes also run regardless of weather.

The four week puppy classes costs £60, full payment is required on booking.  Classes can be paid by bank transfer, paypal or cash at any of my classes before you class starts.

As the dog training classes are limited to 6 dogs, it is necessary to pre-book your place.  Contact me for more information
